Jae's Favorite Papers for Crafting

So many folks have been asking about the papers I use in my projects, so this blog post and corresponding YouTube video will hopefully be of help to you. I have included links to where I get these papers, but will remind you that I do NOT get kickbacks from doing these reviews. These are links for general teaching purposes, only and to show what I like and why. Thanks for joining us in our paper crafting adventure.

Papers I use: Premium 32 ~ 32 pound; 120 gsm very nice to print digital journal pages; little thicker than regular printer paper, so it holds up well.
Joann’s Park Lane Paper ~ 80 pound; 176 gsm This is a nice paper to use for digital printed journal pages, but I also use it some instances for making smaller junk journals because it folds nicely with no tearing when scored with a scoreboard. I have used it for the decorative papers that I print for books and journals. It also comes in colors.
Accent Opaque Digital Cover Paper ~ 80 pound; 216 gsm This is one of my favorite papers when a heavier paper is needed. It makes great creases for bindings and book covers when using white. I have not found this in black, yet! Paper that is considered “Cover” is a better paper because it will have a higher gsm, so be sure to choose this type. I also use a paper product from Heartfelt creations in both white and black ~ 85 pound; 230gsm This is a perfect paper for using when making the 3-d flowers, but it is also great for anywhere you need to bend paper and don’t want it to crack and rip. The finish is not as smooth as most of the other papers I use.
Tyvek envelopes These are wonderful for using anywhere the joint will bend a lot, such as in exploding boxes and book spines. These are available in other colors than white or black. Paper Backed Book Cloth ~ Perfect for spines that you wish to keep a long, long time without cracking and breaking. Last just like a book. https://www.dickblick.com/products/books-by-hand-book-cloth/?clickTracking=true&wmcp=pla&wmcid=items&wmckw=12845-5089&gclid=Cj0KCQiApL2QBhC8ARIsAGMm-KHuhYz0JT2NV4sx8NgXcZtcS6A5QK8xOxqNizDwel0L_TPG6ejrm-caAo0OEALw_wcB

Decorating a Composition Notebook

Hi and welcome! Today I am going to show you a video of how to decorate a composition notebook with paper to make a journal of your craft work. I use these for knitting information and ideas as well as other crafting that I do.

I will be posting a video of actually how to make this later in the week, but this is just an introduction of how it can look. Enjoy, and thanks for stopping by.

2022 ~ A Year of Flowers for Mom

This past year, my mom has had to have her garden removed because of her and pap's declining health. She loved her flower garden very much, so this was a sad time for them. To, hopefully, help her through the transition, I have been making her cards and boxes filled with flowers and flower pictures. Enjoy and think about doing something nice for your momma.

Making 3-D Flowers with Heartfelt Creations

Welcome back! Today, we are going to explore the neatest card and paper crafting ideas I've seen in quite some time. I stumbled upon the neat site at Heart Felt Creations a month ago and have been patiently waiting for my three orders to arrive. What fun I've been having with the gorgeous products from this company.

This is my first stash of products. The company is  so easy to order from and are kind, gentle and sweet in spirit. You will love working with them. They have a monthly group to join for $12.99 which allows you 20% off each order, plus free shipping, plus access to all the classes that are uploaded on their web site. It is a great buy and has saved me quite a bit of cash. (Y'all know I don't mind spending my money, just wanna get something for it! LOL)

They have a "Refer a Friend" Page where you can get $20 off your first order, plus, I can get $20 too. Here is the link: Carla's Refer a Friend Link

They look complicated, but creating these three-dimensional flowers to place on cards and other sundries has been so easy and fun. Here are some of my examples.

Hope you enjoy the photos and that you will go and check out Heartfelt Creations US.
